Start the journey by visiting the karst Postojna Cave, where you discover the underground beauties: spectacular stalactotes, stalagmites, limestone curtains and more by riding the train. Finish the journey by visiting the village Predjama and entering majestc Predjama Castle carved into a 123-metre high stone wall.

We had a fantastic time on this trip. You get to see so much in one day, and although €70 maybe seems quite expensive for a day trip, you really get good value for your money. An alternative would have been to hire a car for a day and do it ourselves but there is no way we'd have been able to have covered anywhere near as much in one day as you could on the Emerald River Adventure, or have found as many of the sights as we got to see. So here’s how our day went. First they picked us up with a van right in front of our hostel, which was great, because we were a group of 4 and didn’t want to walk to the center. Then we stopped at Lake Jasna, and I was immediately hooked on this country. I’ve just never seen such magnificent things before. There was a nice chapel there, but when we got to the river Soča things really got interesting. I just came from the two lakes adventure, and I can’t believe it took me so long to visit Slovenia. I’ve never seen so many beautiful things in one day, it was simply breathtaking.
